Picking up the bikes

Ready for the off

sunny 39 °C

We are staying in the Luxor Hotel which has an Eygptian theme. Built like a pyramid it is enormous. I don't quiet think the Eygptians quite had an idea that their design would be adapted to become a hotel and casino. It is very though. The rooms are well decorated and of course air conditioned.

We are staying in Vegas with Hadrian V Twin Tours, run by John and Dot Johnson. The cowboys and Canyons Tour they run starts from here and takes in Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon and the Gran Canyon. There is a group of 12 of us all riding Harleys which we picked up from Eaglerider today ready for an early start tomorrow.

The 6.00am start is to try and avoid some of the heat as we escape Las Vegas to head out into the desert . The heat is somthing else for us who are more used to riding in the cold and wet. For some it was their first experience...tomorrow will be fun.

Las Vegas

Waiting to pick up the bike

sunny 37 °C

P1000107.jpgLas Vegas is one of those places maybe everyone should visit even if it is just once. This is our second visit but on both occassions the main reason has been to pick up a Harley to start a tour from here. Vegas is just not our type of place. I don't get it as much as I try. Judging from the number of people here there are many thousands who would disagree. They get it. The casinos, the shows, the shopping, the all you can eat restaurants, the decadence of the 24/7 prostitutes on offer."What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is plastered everywhere. All I can say is there is not much for us to leave here. It's not that I don't like it. It's a brilliant place to people watch and the buildings are just jaw dropping. Like I said everyone should come here at least once but for me the " Hangover" is just a film not the reality. P1000097.jpg
